Helicopter Charter During the Winter

Helicopter Charter During the Winter Period

Aviation experts have announced that despite the credit crunch woes affecting the majority of the transport industry, helicopter charter is set to make a rapid revival, with many helicopter hire firms experiencing an increased demand especially for business & Private travel.

Mike Burns, Chief Executive and pilot at Atlas Helicopters, who have been experiencing business growth despite the economic conditions, said, “We are delighted that our helicopter charter service is going from strength to strength, but it just goes to show that there is such a demand for this type of travel, especially for businesses.” With business owners having to travel further and more often to secure that all important deal, helicopter charter and helicopter hire is becoming an essential travel option.

With congested roads, the ever-rising cost of commercial flights and unreliable rail networks, helicopter charter has not only bucked the national trend by flying through the credit crunch unscathed but it has also shown that in 2010, the business traveller is looking for something extra.

Not only does helicopter travel remove the stress of airports, traffic jams and public transport, it also diminishes the need for time away from home and the cost of overnight accommodation. Cruising at speeds of 140 mile per hour and a maximum range of 420 miles, helicopter charter can allow you to make multiple visits in one day and still have you back in time to make a dinner date that very evening.

Moving into the Winter Season when the demand for helicopter charter and helicopter hire usually lessens, Atlas Helicopters has shown significant growth within the shooting and fishing market. Financial institutions are beginning to reward their staff and also entertain clients at such venues and Atlas Helicopters has already travelled to North Yorkshire, Devon and Cornwall this Winter period on such trips.

Mr Burns added, “There is often a misconception that helicopter flights are extremely expensive, but many are realising that this is not the case at all. This maybe a reason why we have experienced such a demand. By the time you have paid your fuel costs, driven to your venue of choice, started to look rather dishevelled as you arrive at your hotel or lodge, you could have arrived at your destination hours earlier in time to maximise your day and evening. Your client’s clients are all the more impressed with the fast and direct helicopter transfer.

Captain Burns added, “At Atlas, we now have a fleet of four AS355 Twin Squirrel’s and one Bell 206L LongRanger, but expanding may soon be on cards which is an exciting prospect.”
Launched in 2008, Atlas has also developed a new approach to helicopter charter and helicopter hire with a unique scheme designed to give frequent flyers guaranteed availability. The Atlas Advantage programme blocks out flying hours for card holders, giving businesses and their executives the convenience of having a helicopter on standby without the associated costs of physically owning a helicopter. The Programmes are sold in three levels dependent upon the client’s exact requirements.

Helicopterdays Celebrates its Second Anniversary

Helicopterdays’ Second Anniversary

We cannot believe that another year has passed since Atlas Helicopters purchased the ‘Helicopterdays‘ brand in September of 2008. Since introducing this ‘London Helicopter Tour’ specialist website into the Atlas Helicopters Group, it has gone from strength to strength almost completely ignoring the recession we are currently in!

Having just completed our 2nd year of tours from both Damyn’s Hall Airfield near Romford, Fairoaks Airport near Woking and Redhill Aerodrome near Crawleym, we have had the pleasure of flying some 2200 passengers. There have been some fascinating passengers along the way with many fantastic stories:-

A lady’s 90th birthday. It had been her life-long ambition to fly in a helicopter, although she had flown scheduled fixed-wing before;

A lady’s 80th birthday gift was a surprise helicopter flight over London.......it was the first time she had ever flown;

There have been seven wedding proposals onboard our London Tours this year ( each said ‘yes’ ).

One gentleman had never flown but his wife had surprised him with a holiday to Spain. To get over his fear of flying, he booked a London Helicopter Tour with us................He was amazed and I presume enjoyed his holiday flight to Spain!!

With Christmas only 3-months why not give your loved ones or those valued to you at work the gift of flight? Whether it is for the realization of a dream, to see enchanting landmarks from a birds-eye perspective or a unique gift for someone who has everything – London helicopter flights from Helicopterdays is the ultimate Christmas Gift.

The renowned London Helicopter Tour takes in the incredible panoramic views of the iconic London skyline, taking in Canary Wharf, the Millennium Dome (o2 Arena), Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast, the London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace, to name but a few sites along the way.

Chief Executive and pilot at Atlas, Mike Burns, said, “The views over London are breathtaking on all of our tours, and we pride ourselves on offering our customers an unforgettable experience.”

HAPPY FLYING!

Helicopter charter and hire on the increase

Helicopter Charter and Hire Demand on the Increase
Atlas Helicopters has announced that despite the credit crunch woes affecting the majority of the transport industry, helicopter charter is making a slow but steady revival, with private and business helicopter hire experiencing an increased demand.
Mike Burns, Chief Executive and pilot at Atlas Helicopters, who have been experiencing business growth despite the economic conditions, said, “We are delighted that our helicopter charter service is growing again, but it just goes to show that there is always a demand for this type of travel, especially for businesses.” With business owners having to travel further and more often to secure that all important deal, helicopter charter and helicopter hire is re-becoming that essential travel option again.
With over-congested roads, the ever-rising cost of commercial flights and unreliable rail networks, helicopter charter has always been an essential tool, however businesses have been less willing over the last 18-months or so to use this service frequently as politically it was not correct to do so.
Not only does helicopter travel remove the stress of airports, traffic jams and public transport, it also diminishes the need for time away from home and the cost of overnight accommodation. Cruising at speeds of 120 knots and a maximum range of 400 miles, helicopter charter can allow you to make multiple visits in one day and still have you back in time to make a dinner date that very evening.
Mr Burns added, “There is often a misconception that helicopter flights are extremely expensive, but many are realising that this is not the case at all. This may be a reason why we have experienced a recent increased demand. By the time you have paid your fuel costs, driven to different appointments throughout the day and started to look rather dishevelled as you arrive at your hotel, you could have seen through more appointments, spent nothing on fuel and arrived feeling cool and collected without the need for a hotel.” Maximising time in the office is also a major factor when choosing helicopter charter. When transporting three, four or five business personnel from meeting to meeting this can prove extremely cost-effective!
Captain Burns added, “At Atlas, we now have a fleet of four AS355 Twin Squirrel’s and one Bell 206L LongRanger, but expanding may soon be on cards which is an exciting prospect. Having access to larger helicopters on ad-hoc basis also helps us look after our clients more efficiently.
